Meet the Pastor

Dr. Theodore T. Brown

Rev. Dr. Theodore T. Brown is a native of Richmond, Virginia, and the son of James and Lillie Roberson.  He is the oldest of three children and has one brother and one sister.  He was raised by his grandmother, Irene Brown. Reverend Brown is a product of Richmond City Public Schools, and graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School.   He has obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Master of Divinity Degree from Virginia Union University School of Theology and earned the Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH in 2007. His dissertation was on a “Mentorship Ministry in an African American Baptist Church.”

At the age of ten he was baptized by Rev. Dr.  Charles B. F. Hinton, pastor of 7th Street Triumphant Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia.  He was very active in church by singing in the choir and ushering. After becoming an adult, he transferred his membership to Riverview Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Ralph Reavis, Sr.

He became involved in numerous ministries.  Leadership positions that he held were:  Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent of Sunday School, Director of Vacation Bible School, and Chairperson of the Young Adult Ministry, and incorporated Super Thursday (a program for youth). In 1993 Reverend Brown accepted his call into ministry and was licensed to preach the Gospel. After much training and studying, he was ordained as a minister in 1997.

In 2003, Reverend Brown was elected as pastor of Springfield Baptist Church, Meherrin, VA!  God blessed him to have this opportunity to work with a caring congregation.  Their theme was “Bringing Families Together: Encouraging One Another to Move Forward.”  Some of the accomplishments that he achieved were: burning the mortgage, expanding the parking lot, adding women to the Trustee Ministry, ordaining Deacons, and licensing new ministers.  He implemented the Children’s Ministry, Christian Education Ministry, Program Committee, Audit Ministry, and the Mentoring Program.

In addition to serving as a pastor, he is a CRA Mortgage Loan Officer with Fulton Mortgage Company, and an instructor at Virginia Union University School of Theology’s Evans-Smith Institution, Keysville, VA.

He married the former Pamela Johnson in holy matrimony on July 1, 1995.  They have two beautiful daughters Morgan and Cameron.

On March  25, 2018, Rev. Brown became the 9th Pastor of Quioccasin Baptist Church in 153 years!
